Buenos Dias!

I missed last week’s Friday Social post, I know. Sorry.  Good news is that I’m dedicating this summer to nothing but writing (unless an ideal job offer comes along. Hey, you never know!) so I plan to be 100% committed to you guys this summer. Yay!

Here we go:

Coffee and Tea Festival NYC 2013

Need I say more? If you’re not running on caffeine to make it in this city then you’re just not human. 60 vendors from around the world will introduce you to some award-winning flavors of your favorite beverages. With over 5,000 people in attendance, you’re bound to meet someone fabulous…and have a great time no matter what!

So here’s the bad news: tickets are sold out and no tickets will be sold at the door this weekend. I know what you’re thinking. “Priya, what the hell?! Why bother telling us at all?!” The answer is: so you’re aware of what’s going on in the city and to be prepared for next year so you don’t miss out. We got our tickets through a Living Social deal. To prevent missing out from future events, you should sign up and buy early to avoid being disappointed. For more info you can click here to visit the festival’s site.

North Shore Animal League

For something that’s available year-round and that’s sure to make your heart burst, visit your local animal shelter. Last weekend, I stopped by the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington. I definitely want a dog in my future but am not ready for one now. But that shouldn’t prevent anyone from stopping by. There are SO MANY beautiful animals in need of a home. North Shore is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption center, or so they claim. Go play with some puppies, kittens, dogs and cats and meet some admirable people who volunteer their time to take special care of all of them. There are also PLENTY of people to meet who are their looking to add a special member to their family. For more info, visit their website here.

So go play with some furry friends this weekend and get happy.
