This weekend, I shared the first post in ADNY’s So Nasty! series on being proactive against the unlawful policy choices of Donald Trump.

Did you get a chance to see it?

If you’re interested in making an impact immediately, I want to share some links with you.

All of the organizations listed below have been fighting to make the world a better place for a long time.  They’ve got the wheels in motion and if you have the means to make a donation, they will put your money to good use.

Want to help refugees get the resources they need? Believe climate change is real?  Pissed off that facts have died?  The list below has got you covered.

Nick Kristof and John Oliver have both made their recommendations on where to donate and I’ve listed some of their favorites below.  I’ve also added a few of my own to wrap up the post.

Here you go!

15 Organizations Making a Difference Right Now

Nick Kristof’s Favorites:

The International Rescue Committee – the preeminent humanitarian organization that provides aid to refugees across the globe.  I highly recommend reading Kristof’s New York Times piece on the IRC here.  If you have more time than money to donate, consider volunteering:

Southern Poverty Law Center – civil rights advocacy center that fights hate crimes and bigotry

John Oliver’s Favorites:

The New York Times

The Washington Post

ProPublica – an independent, nonprofit newsroom that exposes abuse of power and betrayal of public trust using the moral force of investigative journalism
